Reshaping How Teams Engage Digital Media

About Eidolon

Secure media, designed to stay yours.

Eidolon is a new way to package, share, and preserve digital media without surrendering control.

It allows creators to distribute sensitive or personal content (images, documents, audio files, and videos) in a form that resists copying, scraping, and unauthorized redistribution, while remaining simple to use for the intended recipient.

No accounts. No servers holding your data. No platform deciding who gets access.

What Eidolon Does Differently

Most systems protect content by locking it behind a service. Eidolon protects content by changing how it exists.

Instead of uploading your files to a third party, Eidolon packages them into a secure container that:

  • Opens only under the right conditions
  • Reveals content only to the intended recipient
  • Leaves no usable copy behind

The result is media that can be shared, but not harvested.

Policy That Travels With the Content

With Eidolon, access rules arenโ€™t stored on a server or enforced by an account.

They are embedded directly into the container itself.

Every Eidolon container carries its own policy, created at the moment of packaging, which defines how, when, and under what conditions the content can be accessed.

Once set, that policy cannot be altered.

Immutable by Design

Eidolon policies are write-once.

After a container is created:

  • The rules cannot be edited
  • They cannot be stripped away
  • They cannot be overridden by a third party

This prevents quiet changes after sharing and ensures that recipients experience the content exactly as it was intended.

What you define is what travels.

Time-Based Constraints, Enforced Locally

Eidolon supports time-aware access without relying on a central authority.

Policies can include:

  • Expiration dates
  • Fixed access windows
  • One-time or limited-use conditions

These constraints are enforcedย locally, by the container itself rather than by a remote service.

When the time passes, access ends. No account revocations. No callbacks. No external checks.

Fails Gracefully

Eidolon is designed around a simple premise: access should reflect intent, not pressure.

In the real world, people are sometimes compelled, whether by circumstance, authority, or coercion, to unlock information they would not otherwise choose to reveal. Traditional security systems treat this as a failure condition. Eidolon differs here.

Duress mode allows a container to resolve safely under non-voluntary conditions. When an unlock attempt does not match the expected behavioral context, the container can intentionally produce alternate, benign content instead of the original material.

Nothing breaks. Nothing signals distress. The system simply behaves differently.

Duress mode is a pre-declared, non-reactive outcome authored by the containerโ€™s creator, designed to reduce risk without escalating a situation.

This capability exists for one reason: to preserve safety and dignity when refusal is not an option.

If you never need it, nothing changes. If you ever do, it acts accordingly.

No Servers in the Middle

Because policy enforcement happens inside the container:

  • Thereโ€™s no server deciding access after the fact
  • Thereโ€™s no online dependency to fail or be compromised
  • Thereโ€™s no centralized log of what was opened or when
  • Accounts aren’t a thing

The container carries both the content and the rules governing it.

Predictable, Transparent Behavior

Recipients donโ€™t need to wonder:

  • if access might be changed later
  • if a platform can revoke content remotely
  • or if a service outage will lock them out

An Eidolon container behaves the same way everywhere it goes, for its entire lifetime.

Built for Real-World Sharing

Eidolon is designed for situations where trust matters, but absolute trust isnโ€™t realistic:

  • Sharing personal files
  • Sending sensitive documents
  • Distributing early creative work
  • Providing time-limited or revocable access
  • Passing something on without losing control of it

If youโ€™ve ever thought โ€œI want them to see this, but not keep itโ€, Eidolon is for that moment.

Platform Availability

Eidolon is currently planned for Apple platforms.

Initial releases focus on:

  • macOS
  • iOS
  • iPadOS

This allows us to deliver a consistent security model, predictable behavior, and a polished experience across devices.

Other platforms may be considered in the future, but the current focus is on doing one ecosystem well.

Current Status

Eidolon is preparing for release.

Weโ€™re finalizing:

  • stability
  • user experience
  • and distribution safeguards

Early access will be limited while we complete this phase.

Audience

Eidolon will be available at no cost to individual, natural persons.

We acknowledge that there may be strategic value in Eidolon’s capability for institutional actors. We are currently evaluating the merits and drawbacks associated with permitting institutional use in Corporate, Nonprofit, and Government contexts.
